For our outing this month we got the opportunity to go down to Temple Square and have a tour of the beautiful gardens! There are so many flowers and plants, we got to see them all! The eclipse was happening the same time we were outside and we also got the chance to watch that happen!
After our tour and the eclipse, we walked over to the Tabernacle for an Organ Recital. It was so fun to hear the beautiful organ play! Then it was time for lunch and we all enjoyed a great sack lunch, the perfect end to our trip! We are so grateful to all those who came and helped us make the outing possible!
With summer almost over we decided to have a little celebration Hawaiian style! Our residents enjoyed music and entertainment by Debra Bowers, making some paper flower leis, turning pine cones into pineapples and so much more!
Camping is such a favorite summer pastime that many of our residents have such fond memories of. So with national s’more day we decided to celebrate s’mores and camping, because what’s camping with out s’mores?
We made a camp ground scene, S’mores out of popsicle sticks, and then a fun s’mores dessert that everyone enjoyed!
Our assisted living crew had a chance to visit Hogle Zoo earlier this month and had a wonderful time viewing the animals and hanging out with our fabulous volunteers! The day was gorgeous and our residents and volunteers had a chance to see a baby orangutan, otters, tigers, snow leopards, elephants, seals, and many other creatures. We had a blast and cannot thank our many wonderful volunteers enough!

We love crafting and flowers at Carrington Court so why not combine them?! Some of us recently sat down to make beautiful bouquets out of gorgeous silk flowers and the results were stunning. These bouquets are sure to keep the feeling of summer going for a long time to come.
